Waldorf Family – Life Cycle Wheel
Life cycles are all around us.
They are part of our natural world and part of every living thing.
A life cycle is a series of changes that happens to all living things and every life cycle is the same for each new generation.
For example the frog: a frogs life cycle begins in cycle as frog spawn. The frog spawn develops into a tadpole, which grows and grows until it becomes a frog and lay frog spawn of its own. The life cycle then begins again.
Discovering life cycles can be an important way for children to develop their understanding of the world around them and help them understand and deal with big concepts such as life, death and birth. While also building a wonderful foundation for science.
Our beautiful rainbow illustration gentle weaves life cycles through the year as we travel through the seasons. In this illustration we can see sheep, butterfly, sunflower, daffodil, caterpillar, brown bird and swallows journey from egg, seed and bulb, through their life cycles as they grow and reproduce.
Waldorf Family are happily plastic free and environmentally friendly.
Our products are from hand-drawn illustrations, by UK illustrator Stephanie Green, and created on PEFC sustainable wood, we design for conscious homes and we build to last a lifetime.

About the Artist, Stephanie Green:
“I am inspired by nature: if I can help children in the built environment connect with nature and help those who do not find a good fit in the educational system find wonder in learning then I will be doing what I was put here to do.
I believe we are all here to serve – our society, our purpose. It is our job to dig deep and discover what lights our fire: for me that is drawing, painting, my family and homemaking. These personal passions were what firmly led me to create for children.
I still remember a painting that I had when I was about 6 or 7. In each corner it had so many details I remember staring at this whole other world for hours – not really sure if it was a real world – existing in that flat paper space.”
